    1. The number reason to get a golf fitness assessment is to reduce the risk of injury. Considering that approximately 70% of amateur golfers are playing in pain or have played in pain this should be a priority!
    2. The number two reason to get a golf fitness assessment is to improve performance. Every golfer wants to be a better golfer. Although lessons and practice seem like the logical approach to improving your game it's the very reason so many golfers end up injured or rarely reach their genetic potential.

    As important as those factors are, nothing will work better or faster than improving your bodies ability to get into position to swing the club!

    The fact is the average amateur golfer is not physically capable of performing the required body movements that are involved in a mechanically correct golf swing.

    Level 1 Screen

    The level 1 screen was developed for golf professionals to identify any physical limitations that might be effecting their golf swing.

    The level 1 screen looks at flexibility, mobility and stability as it relates to the golf swing.

    Level 2 Screen

    The Level 2 screen looks at strength, power, speed and cardiovascular efficiency.

    Measuring these 4 components will help to determine if that player has adequate strength, for their body size, to hit the golf ball and how far.

Founder of NY Golf Fitness Guru, Brett has been involved in the fitness industry for over 17 years. He specializes in working with golfers and individuals over 50, and is the only trainer in New York to hold two golf fitness certifications: Titleist Performance Institute and C.H.E.K Institute as well as two fitness certifications specializing in the mature population: Functional Aging Institute and National Academy of Sports Medicine, Senior Fitness Specialist.

As reflected in his experience below, Brett has a deep passion for learning and continuously expands his knowledge working with some of the giants in the fitness and wellness industry. Prior to moving into the fitness industry, Brett participated in the martial arts and obtained a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. An avid runner, he has competed over 300 road races covering virtually all distances, including four New York City Marathons.
