Who wouldn’t like to lose a few pounds? The thing is that for your body to change your habits have to change. If you do the things you’ve always done, you’ll get the same results you’ve always gotten!
STEP 1. Eliminate Grains, Starches & Alcohol
I can’t imagine anything more delicious than fresh baked bread with butter! But if you want to lose a few pounds it’s got to go. That includes bread, cereal and granola, even if it is organic!
In his latest book, neurologist David Perlmutter declares war on a common foodstuff, attributing a bewilderingly wide assortment of maladies to the consumption of gluten, a substance found in bread and other stock foods. Contrasting modern humans against idealized humans of the distant past.
STEP 2: Eliminate Processed Dairy
The dairy association still maintains that the prevention of disease is the motive for pasteurization (the process of heating milk in order to kill potentially harmful bacteria).
While this may have been the case back in the early 20th century, Louis Pasteur, the man who developed pasteurization, later admitted that the prevention of disease is highly unlikely.
So why does the process continue? To keep the crap on the shelf longer. Processed foods last longer so they can sell more of it.
Another thing many people fail to realize is that the lower the fat content the higher the sugar content. They simply take the fat out and all that is left is lactose (ose = sugar). So low fat milk = Sugar water. No health benefits what-so-ever.
If you want to improve your health and lose some weight eliminate processed dairy. Exceptions to the dairy rule:
- Grass fed butter
- Raw cheese (good for your gut)
STEP 3: Eliminate Sugars
Today sugar is in just about everything! It’s hard to avoid unless you know what to look for. Here’s the basic rule; if it’s in a box, can, wrapper or container it’s probably got sugar in it. To see just how prevalent it is in the food supply and what it’s doing to the health of our society world wide check out the film: That Sugar Film. It will change the way you look at food!
Brett’s Bottom Line:
While it may not be practical or possible to eliminate these three categories from your diet forever, if you do it for a month it will change your taste and metabolism and you’ll likely desire less of them in the future.
